Mrs. D. Kokkari, Biologist, is Research Technician at the Institute of Aquaculture, H.C.M.R., Heraklion, Crete, since 1996. She has been involved in several E.U. and National R&D competitive research projects, as well as in European Networks for the dissemination of Aquaculture RTD information. She is responsible for the analysis of hematological, biochemical and hormonal parameters in blood and tissues of various fish species, using advanced laboratory techniques (ELISA, RIA, HPLC, GC, TLC, enzymatic, PCR). The last 2 years, she is working mostly on molecular diagnosis of parasite, bacterial or viral diseases and recently on bacteriophage therapy.
